v2.1.8August 17, 2026

Journal Insights, Grounded in Evidence

Journal is now an insights-first experience with crash-safe daily check-ins, customizable factors, and transparent evidence states that avoid unsupported impact claims.

Added

  • Insights-first Journal: See factor insights, evidence readiness, and recent check-ins before opening today’s entry sheet.
  • Transparent impact evidence: Expected impacts distinguish supported research from outcomes that are not established, while personal impacts remain unavailable until enough comparable observations exist.
  • Custom factors: Create and edit local Journal factors with versioned definitions so earlier observations keep their original meaning.

Improved

  • Crash-safe daily check-ins: Journal changes are durably autosaved and recover after force-quit or relaunch without relying on app termination callbacks.
  • Truthful personal estimates: Readiness, uncertainty, coverage, confounders, and multiple-comparison correction are part of the estimate contract rather than hidden behind a single percentage.
  • Stable loading ownership: The latest Journal request owns the visible screen, preventing stale history or entry loads from replacing newer results.

Fixed

  • Prevented partially loaded entries from appearing ready before their durable revision was restored.
  • Removed stale Journal source allowlist entries that no longer match the supported factor contract.
v2.1.5August 16, 2026

Motion That Keeps Your Data in View

Purposeful motion now makes navigation, value refreshes, and charts feel more coherent, while settled health values remain visible until their verified replacements are ready.

Added

  • Purposeful motion system: Navigation, numeric updates, chart reveals, state changes, save completion, and direct manipulation now share consistent motion behavior.
  • Retained-value continuity: Settled daily values remain on screen during recalculation and are replaced atomically when newer verified results arrive.
  • Dynamic Island acceptance: Workout compact and expanded system presentations now have a source-bound simulator test path for supported iPhones.

Improved

  • Charts and gauges: Charts reveal on deterministic data revisions, and gauges use shared numeric transition timing without replaying after unrelated view updates.
  • Reduce Motion: Numeric and chart interpolation is removed, spatial transitions become short crossfades where appropriate, and final semantics stay identical.
  • Loading and refresh states: Home preserves settled scores and charts during same-day refreshes instead of flashing back to placeholders.

Fixed

  • Prevented stale asynchronous completions from overwriting newer retained values.
  • Prevented same-value recalculations and recoverable failures from creating blank metric frames.

Scores, Sync, and Live Workouts

A broader Full Home experience with clearer daily scores and Target Strain, more resilient Strap-to-Health syncing, and richer workout surfaces across the app, widgets, Lock Screen, and Live Activities.

Added

  • Target Strain: A daily recommended range now combines settled Recovery with recent eligible Strain history and keeps its calculation provenance visible.
  • Shareable daily summary: Export the Full Home summary in portrait, square, or Story-friendly layouts without exposing private raw health data.
  • Workout surfaces: Strength and cardio workouts now have dedicated Lock Screen and Live Activity presentations, including compact and expanded Dynamic Island layouts on supported iPhones.
  • Home and Lock Screen widgets: New daily-score and Strap-battery families provide useful, privacy-aware summaries and deep links back into Boop.

Improved

  • Daily score gauges: Recovery, Strain, and Sleep use clearer settled-value rings, target context, freshness language, and consolidated accessibility semantics.
  • Activity detail: Recently completed workouts retain an honest waiting state while heart-rate data hydrates, then transition to samples or an authoritative no-data result without duplicate timeline entries.
  • Background sync: Strap catch-up, Apple Health export, restoration wakes, and freshness evidence now use bounded, cancellation-aware ownership with clearer in-app progress and failure states.
  • Strength continuity: Active sets, rest deadlines, save retries, relaunch reconciliation, notification cues, and Live Activity state remain consistent across interruptions.

Fixed

  • Fixed Apple Health export status becoming stale while its Settings detail was open.
  • Fixed manual past activities waiting on the entire Apple Health export before reporting their durable save.
  • Fixed selected-day loading races that could leave Home covered by a loading state.
  • Fixed final Strength sets incorrectly starting another rest interval instead of offering workout completion.
v1.1.3July 30, 2026Earlier Beta

Workout Continuity

Sharper outdoor-workout routes, a more useful Day Trace, and a clearer Home workout state while keeping Apple Health as the long-term record.

Added

  • Day Trace workout context: Boop-detected workouts and qualifying Apple Health workouts now appear alongside the day’s sensor trace. A Boop-owned workout is shown once, while an overlapping workout from another source remains visible.
  • Home workout state: Home now shows an active workout and a short-lived completion summary after it ends. Full workout history remains in Apple Health.

Improved

  • Outdoor route elevation: Outdoor Boop workouts now retain valid altitude readings in their HealthKit route, so elevation can be available to compatible health and fitness apps.

Fixed

  • Fixed workout routes from emitting placeholder elevation when the iPhone did not provide a valid altitude reading.
v1.1.2July 30, 2026Maintenance

Sleep & Energy Correctness

Improved sleep-stage and time-to-fall-asleep calculations, corrected local energy integration, and made recovery exports stable and duplicate-safe.

Improved

  • Sleep staging: Preserved the owning in-bed session and latency boundary while distinguishing missing sensor evidence from confirmed awake time.
  • Energy estimates: Integrated sparse history using elapsed intervals and labeled local results as estimated total kilocalories rather than active or basal Health energy.
  • Recovery exports: Waited for overnight sessions to settle before exporting sleep, HRV, and resting heart rate, with revised algorithm metadata for the corrected calculations.

Fixed

  • Fixed sleep exports that could be duplicated or overlap when a session was reprocessed after additional history arrived.
  • Fixed legacy recovery samples being left behind when a finalized session was replaced with corrected output.
  • Fixed replayed local energy samples from accumulating duplicate daily or workout totals.
v1.1.1July 29, 2026Earlier Beta

Offload & Runtime Reliability

Fixed startup and export bottlenecks, optimized background BLE work, enabled automatic launch offload, and added live battery pack telemetry.

Added

  • Battery pack telemetry: Band now displays live charge percentage when a WHOOP 5.0 or MG battery pack is attached, and Home indicates charging with a bolt icon.
  • Automatic launch offload: Opening Boop or returning to the foreground automatically triggers an offload check when fresh banked history is ahead of the local frontier.

Improved

  • Cold launch speed: Optimized cold launch responsiveness so the Home screen and cached Health snapshot become interactive in under two seconds.
  • Bounded background work: Replaced the legacy 15-minute periodic background timer with event-driven BLE wakes and coalesced retry triggers to minimize energy impact.
  • Pipeline serialization: Bounded pipeline execution so durable HealthKit exports run without stalling UI interactions.

Fixed

  • Fixed an issue where manual pull-to-refresh could fail to start offload when returning from background.
  • Resolved daily sleep duration calculations to total all sleep sessions correctly.
v1.1.0July 26, 2026TestFlight
